These bobbins are derived from the famous photos of a lace pillow from the Normandy region of France. As a bobbin maker I try to take elements from old bobbins and use them in my styles but not simply copy the entire bobbin. The originals were about five inches long and half an inch or more thick.
These bobbins are closer to four inches long, and not quite half an inch thick. They are intended for bolster pillow use, not cookie pillows. For arthritic hands they can be a good choice.
Normandy bobbins may be made of Morado, Maple, Mesquite and similar light weight woods. Email and I will tell you what I have available
They are not meant for spangling and will NOT be drilled!
