Thin and very light, Honiton bobbins are meant to hang from a bolster or round fat pillow. Their weight and size are dictated by the incredibly fine thread used to create Honiton laces.
Though some Honiton bobbins were decorated, even a plain one is pleasing in its simplicity of line. Joinings are common in this lace and the pointed end and thin shape of the bobbin helps make them easy.
As with so many bobbins, the fine thread used requires a fine grained wood to avoid snagging the threads. Please email to find out what is available.
